The PC-420PRW is a great machine for both novice and professional sewists. The built-in LCD panel allows its user to design stitches and save them to the machine’s memory. A programmable thread trimmer cuts the upper and lower threads at the end of a task, allowing easy finishing. Other features of this machine are the direct 10-key stitch selection and an advanced needle-threading system. Twin needle function, digital stitch length and width control, and a built-in knee light that raises the presser foot in order to reposition or remove fabric are other addtional bonuses. The list of features for the PC-420 continues by offering a hard cover, quilting foot, and a walking foot. This machine carries a 25-year limited warranty, a one year labor warranty, and a two year electronics warranty.

The first review was posted in April of 2008 and was a five star review. The reviewer stated that they purchased the machine in an addition to their normal sewing machine as they needed to finish the edges of their appliques. After use, they determined that the PC-420 out performed their other machine but found it a little challenging to figure out why the machine would error when trying to make buttonholes. Though they do go on to say that they feel it was strictly user error and of no fault of the machine.
In July of 2010, a four star reviewer stated that they were very pleased with the machine and that they found it quiet and relatively easy to use. The only complaint mentioned was that the light didn’t seem to be situated in an optimum position on the machine.
The most recent review, posted in October of 2011, was a one star review. The reviewer stated that though they had been sewing for 10+ years, they didn’t consider themselves to be a professional either – and though they did enjoy some of the features of this machine, the performance leaves much to be desired. “The machine feels super cheap to the touch and look.”
